City Continues to Conserve Betawi Culture

Jakarta Provincial Government continues to conserve Betawi art and culture, as it is the value of local wisdom and cultural heritage section of the archipelago. 

It's important for each element of the nation to strengthen cultural resilience

Governor's Assistant for Civil Registration and Housing, Syahrul Effendi disclosed the greatness and progress of a nation have a strong correlation with wealth and cultural plurality. Thus, the native culture of the nation needs to be conserved.

"It's important for each element of the nation to strengthen cultural resilience. The interests of the nation must also be placed on personal and group interests," he expressed, when he opened Kebhinekaan Seminar, at City Hall, Tuesday (5/16).

Betawi Culture Preservation Keeps Being Encouraged

He assessed the seminar is a means of growing intellectual values via strategic and critical studies.

In the development process, people have a strategic position as a moral force, a social control and a change.

"Jakarta should be a pioneer. Hopefully this seminar is able to answer the challenges of the present and the future," he said.
