Severely Damaged, Jalan Kapuk Raya Endangers Bikers

Bikers are reminded to pass carefully on Jalan Kapuk Raya, exactly on Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) Bridge, RW 10 and RW 12, Kapuk Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-District, West Jakarta, since the road is damaged with many potholes that could lead to accident.

Norman (35), a local, said the road has been damaged since hit by flood on last January. Until now, the related party never patches the potholes in the size of 15x20 and 20x30 centimeters diameter. With the current condition, the road endangers the motorists, especially bikers.

Head of Kapuk Urban Village, Risan H Mustar, admitted that the damage on Jalan Kapuk Raya on PIK Bridge is caused by flood and inundation which created many potholes. If bikers did not pass carefully, they could fall.

β€œThe damage has occurred since last flood. Indeed, it has not been repaired until now. We have sent a letter to related unit, reporting about the road condition and asking for a repair. But, there is no follow up until now,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Head of West Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department, Sisca Hermawati, cannot be confirmed since her hand phone was always off.
