Jakarta Transportation Dept. (Dishub) is keep trying to increase public transportation users in Jakarta. Considering the recent public transportation user in Jakarta is still below 20 percent.

Jakarta Transportation Dept. Head, Andri Yansyah targets public transportation user to reach 60 percent. Thus his side works hard to reach that target.
"It is just 20 percent. We still have a lot of work to do," he said at Focus Group Discussion themed Rerouting and Public Transportation Management in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Monday (9/4).
Dishub will Rerouting 120 KWK RoutesAccording to him, recently his side is repairing public vehicles thus the user number can be increased. Besides, his side has also issued policy to expand the ban on motorcycles pass on several roads.
He admitted, this policy has been mandated in Law (UU) No. 22/2009 about Traffic and Transportation and also in Regional Regulation (Perda) No.5/2014 about Transportation.
"There are existing rules and analysis, we just need to do the execution. This is our way to solve traffic congestion in Jakarta," he said.
By applying this policy, he ensures, private vehicle users will prefer to use public transportation. His side will keep improving public transportation quality also, especially Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).
