Color of Jakarta Competition Owned by Yohanes

This year's Color of Jakarta competition seems belongs to Yohanes Widianto. By his expertise in capturing photos, he successfully won the first position for two categories . The man who has photography hobby was only using two pocket cameras to take picture.
For a photo themed Sunda Kelapa Harbor on Different Angle was taken from Helicopter
Those two categories are city scape and essay photo. He brought total prize Rp 30 million. His photos are Sunda Kelapa Harbor from Different Angle for city scape category and Cuplin the Pantomime Player for essay category.

Yohanes admitted that he is happy with the result of his hard work which finally can achieve two awards at once. But he only used a pocket camera to capture many unique moments in Jakarta. “For a photo themed Sunda Kelapa Harbor on Different Angle was taken from Helicopter,” said Yohanes at City Hall, Tuesday (6/24) night.
Meanwhile, acting Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, said that with the existence of a competition like this, it can record city’s development growth. Besides of that, it can be a tourism promotion event for Jakarta. He hoped that the event could be held every year. He assessed that the picture gathered can be a comparator between previous governments with the next government.
“This is important event, the event can be a promotion for Jakarta tourism at once,” said Basuki.
Communication Informatics and Public Relation Department Head, Agus Bambang said that similar event will be held every year. He hoped there will be more participants next year. “We still conduct it next year, the duration will be longer to attract more participants,” he uttered.
On this occasion, the amounts of photos which listed and qualified the selection by the committee are 2,556 pictures. At least there are four categories on this event such as city scape, tourism, car free day, and essay photo. From that amount there are 100 best photos which booked and used as souvenirs by Jakarta Provincial Government. The judges on this event are from Arbain Rambey (senior photographer from Kompas daily), Sri Sadono (Redactor of CFVD Magazine), and Yuliandi Kusuma (Editor of Digital Camera Indonesia Magazine).
