Ramadan, PNS Working Hours Reduced for 1.5 Hours

Along Ramadan, civil servant (PNS) working hour in Jakarta Provincial Government office is reduced for 1.5 hour. This policy is aimed to give more chance to do worship for Muslim employees.

This provision is listed in notification letter of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucrat Reformation Ministry (PANRB) which stated that PNS working hour reduced for 1.5 hour along Ramadan 1435 hijriah.

For Monday to Thursday, PNS working hour started from 08 AM and ended on 3 PM, with break hour on 12 PM to 12.30 PM.  While PNS working hour on Friday is started on 8 AM until 3.30 PM with break hour on 11.30 AM until 12.30 PM.

Traffic Jam Hours and Locations Change During Ramadan

Usually, PNS started the work on 7.30 AM and go home on 4 PM. Thus, PNS working time in this year’s fasting month is only 32, 5 hours per weeks, fewer than usual for 40 hours per weeks.

“The policy has been implemented years before,” I Made Karmayoga uttered, Head of Jakarta Employment Agency (BKD), Monday (6/30).

Nevertheless, all PNS are requested to keep maintain discipline and give their best service to citizens along Ramadan. “We request for PNS not lazy and keep provide best service for citizens,” he asserted.

For PNSs who are truanted, late, or have performance decrease along Ramadan, will get sanction based on Government Policy (PP) No 53/2010 about PNS’s disciplinary. Not that only, working allowances for indiscipline PNS will also be cut.
