Sandi Wants Underground to Be Public Interaction Space

Jakarta Vice Governor, Sandiaga Uno wanted City undergrounds to be optimally used.

Not only from economy, but also from social function that the underground can be used to increase public interaction

One of them was Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) underground station which is hoped to be used as public interaction space.

"Not only from economy, but also from social function that the underground can be used to increase public interaction," he stated, in 'Workshop Underground Government Study: MRT Jakarta' at City Hall, Wednesday (12/6).

Jakarta MRT Train will Be Shipped in Early 2018

According to him, if the social function was developed, it would create economic fucntion in the underground. Underground was also considered potential to create job opportunity.

"We hope this workshop could produce more ideas in using underground for public interest," he expressed.

The workshop itself was attended by PT. MRT Board directors, Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister or National Land Board (ATR/BPN) Head, Sofyan Djalil; Kemendagri's Regional Autonomy General Director, Sumarsono; Jakarta City Council Vice Chairman, Mohammad Taufik, and some academics.
