Highest Score, Saefullah Appointed to Serve as City Secretary

"I've received decree letter from President, thus we will do induction as soon as possible and be officially conducted by me

Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama revealed that Central Jakarta Mayor, Saefullah would serve as City Secretary which is currently filled by Acting, Wiriyatmoko. This is because Saefullah got the highest score than dozens of Echelon-II officials in the the test. 

"Saefullah get the highest score in the competence test. I will appoint him as City Secretary," he stated, at City Hall, Thursday (7/10).

Through the Home Ministry, he acknowledged his party has received a decree letter from President. It is hoped the new City Secretary could already be inducted next week. "I've received decree letter from President, thus we will do induction as soon as possible and be officially conducted by me," he expressed.

According to Basuki, raid against street vendors in Tanah Abang and Monas is a test for Saefullah to occupy City Secretary post in the capital. As a result, he managed through it.

Besides Saefullah, the highest score was also achieved by Wiriyatmoko. Due to his age is old and will retire, Basuki prefers to choose Saefullah.

On the other hands, he denies the assumption that saying he chose Saefullah to secure his position if he became governor. "Precisely, this is dangerous for me, why? If Saefullah does not agree with his policy. He could exert his fellow Batawian people to attack me," he exclaimed.

He believes Saefullah able to carry out the tasks to develop the capital. They are including by sterilizing the Tanah Abang area from street vendors and setting up a new system for 2015.

"Thereby, I command him to set up a good TKD. We'll also impose operational, instead of official vehicles anymore. We also plan to minimize unruly employees. This is the task of City Secretary. I think he can do it," he asserted.

Meanwhile, Saefullah was reluctant to say much related to his election as City Secretary. He is still waiting until the induction done. "I cannot give you any comment before the induction. Definitely, we are ready to work everywhere and anywhere," he uttered.
