Since last year, Jakarta Forestry Dept. has collected illegal logging fines from 20 violators for Rp 321 billion.

Jakarta Forestry Dept.'s Community Empowerment and Law Enforcement Division Head, Henri Perez Sitorus explained, violators will be sanctioned based on Perda Chapter 3 No. 8/2007 related to Public Order.

He explained, illegal logging fines will be automatically transferred to state funds after the violators follow minor crime (Tipiring) trial process in district court (PN).
"Those fines will be directly added to state funds, not Jakarta Provincial Government. Because the court is outside regional autonomy," he said.
According to him, that amount of fines are not including three other violators who have follow Tipiring trial in Central Jakarta PN on last Friday (3/2).
"Now we are still queuing for three other cases. Those violators will be trial again on March 16," he confirmed.
