Homecoming Season, 7,640 Policemen Secure the City

To provide sense of security and comfort to Jakartans, the City Police put 7,640 personnel on guard along Eid ul Fitr 1435 Hijri homecoming and returning flows. In addition, they will also be involved in the 2014 Ketupat Jaya Operation in which firm action will be imposed to thugs, brokers, and other security threats that disturb the citizens.

“We put 7,640 personnel on guard. The security done includes in terminals, stations, port, and airport, so homecomers would feel safe and comfortable. Our duty is indeed to protect and serve the people,” stated City Police Chief Ins. Gen. Dwi Priyatno during his visit in Pulogadung Terminal to monitor homecoming flow, Wednesday (7/23).

According to Priyatno, all policemen are assigned to secure the city by holding patrol, guard several vital objects, and provide safety for homecomers. If there were thugs or brokers recklessly made a scene or disturbed the citizens, all personnel are asked to take firm action. And if there were homecomers harmed by thugs or brokers, they are asked to report it immediately to the nearest police station.

Police to Escort Biker Homecomers Until Karawang

“If there were brokers, report them to the policemen. That includes crime using hypnotic and taking belongings. I’ve told the policemen here, including resort police chiefs, to take firm action,” he asserted.
