ERP & IMTA Can Boost Regional Retribution Revenue

Jakarta Provincial Government has compiled potential sectors that are able to increase regional retribution revenue. The significant regional retribution revenue is predicted to be taken from the implementation of Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) and Expatriate Employment Permit (IMTA).

It is assumed that significant retribution revenue would be obtained from ERP implementation and the income from IMTA

“It is assumed that significant retribution revenue would be obtained from ERP implementation and the income from IMTA,” said Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo when he delivered final statement on six bylaw drafts in the plenary session at City Council (DPRD) building, Wednesday (7/23).

Therefore, Jokowi hopes DPRD to soon ratify the two bylaws on those two sectors. Moreover, bylaw draft on retribution revision that regulates retribution collection for ERP and IMTA is already in the process of discussion in DPRD.

Basuki Appreciates ERP Trials

“I added that with the enactment of bylaw draft regulation into regional regulation, traffic management and IMTA retributions can already be collected,” he stated.

In addition, Jokowi stressed that Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to achieve the target of regional revenues from taxes and retribution which have been set this year.

“Of course, the cooperation and hard work from related units is needed to further increase the awareness of Jakarta residents on their obligations to pay tax,” he asserted.
