Jakarta Industry and Energy (PE) Dept. register 300 small medium industries (IKM)s trademarks to Legal and HAM Ministry.
Jakarta PE Dept.'s IKM and Creative Section Head, Frida Elizabeth said trademark needs to be registered since it contains of Intellectual property rights (HKI). Trademark is also used to distinguish one product and others.

She explained, 300 registered IKMs are running in fashion, culinary, and art fields. Later, IKM business owners will get registration number as an evidence that their businesses have been registered in Kemenkumham and they can check its status at web dgip.go.id.
"Trademark is valid until 10 years after product is registered. After that period, they must extend its validity period," she added.
According to her, number of IKM which is facilitated to register their trademark is increased than in 2017.
"There are 175 IKMs last year and our target for next year is 1,000 IKMs. We will facilitate and pay the retribution," she stated.
