118 Civil Servants in East Jakarta Absent on First Day of Work

East Jakarta Administration recorded that as many as 1,001 out of 1,119 civil servants in East Jakarta are present while the rest 118 civil servants are absent on the first day of work. The number does not include civil servants serving in urban village and sub-district offices.

W e will continue the inspection to find out how many employees absent without explanation

Of the 118 truancy civil servants, 7 of them are undertaking education, 35 people took leave, 7 people requested permission not to work, 17 people are sick, 26 people are on duty outside the city, and 26 others are absent without explanation. However, the 26 civil servants are not exactly ditching because Jakarta Personnel Board (BKD) will hold another inspection this afternoon.

Head of East Jakarta Administration Personnel Office, Sulistyowati, admitted that indeed there are many civil servants absent on the first day of work, but it does not mean they are ditching. This is because most of them have clear explanations, like undertaking education, leave, sick, and on duty outside the city. Besides, her party and local city inspectorate assistant officers have held inspection to several rooms in East Jakarta Administration building.

Basuki: Truant, I Will Cut Civil Servant’s TKD

“Indeed, we have not checked all rooms. But, we will continue the inspection to find out how many employees absent without explanation,” she stated, Monday (8/4).

If the employees were absent without explanation, they would get sanction in form of verbal reprimand and not get regional performance allowance (TKD) for one month. If the sanction is not given by their superiors, the superiors will receive the sanction.

According to Sulistyowati, in a year every employee should not be late over 2,250 minutes or about 5 working days. If it was violated, they will be sanctioned by not getting TKD for one month.

“If the employees did severe violation, such as proven involved in corruption case or absent for 46 days within a period of one year, they will be dismissed disrespectfully,” she uttered.
