Coming Late, Jakarta Civil Servants' TKD will Be Cut

The city administration will give sanction to Jakarta civil servants who are coming late for work during the fasting month. The sanction is by cutting the Regional Performance Allowance (TKD) until delay promotions.

The statement was also emphasized by Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama. He said working hour lateness has been taken over to Jakarta Regional Employment Agency (BKD). "This is the authority of Jakarta BKD. The sanction is like by cutting the civil servant's TKD," he stated, at City Hall, Monday (6/30).
Ramadan, PNS Working Hours Reduced for 1.5 HoursHe assessed that Jakarta civil servants have had the experience or way to avoid being late for work. Supposedly, they go to the office earlier than usual because of they conduct pre-dawn meal or locally called as sahur.
"In our experience, the employees must go to the office earlier during Ramadan. All adjutants had come in early or on time. Moreover, they do not sleep after doing sahur," he told.
According to him, Jakarta BKD will be closely watched the civil's discipline time during the moment of world cup. This is because it is quite possible they come late for work due to staying up late to watch the world cup match. "This is not good," he expressed.
The sanction will also be given to employees who absent from work in accordance with Government Regulation No.53/2010 on Civil Servants Discipline. There are rules for employees who are absent without explanation five times cumulatively, that is by giving sanction ranging from reprimand until delay promotion.
Last Ramadan, from 73,645 employees, there was only one employee who absent without explanation on the first day of fasting. While 91 other employees gave explanation, with details, 24 people sick, 6 people permission, and 61 people still take leave.
As known, the State Minister for the Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) had issued a circular letter on civil servant working hours during Ramadan.
For Monday-Thursday, civil servant working hours will be started at 8 AM-3 PM, with break hour on 12-12.30 PM. While on Friday, its working hour will be started at 8 AM-3.30 PM and break hour at 11.30 AM-12.30 PM.
Usually, they begin to work at 7.30 AM and go home at 4 PM. Thereby, their working hour in Ramadan is only about 32.5 hours per week compared to usual which is 40 hours per week.
