Head of Jakarta Education Department, Lasro Marbun, intends to resign from his position due to stressful in facing internal problems in his department. As known, Marbun was assigned to this position six months ago replacing Taufik Yudhi Mulyanto, who is now the Head of Governor’s Team for Development Acceleration (TGUPP).

“Mr. Lasro Marbun cannot stand it anymore. He is stressful and asked to be transferred,” disclosed Vice Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama, at City Hall, Wednesday (8/6).

According to Basuki, Marbun wants to resign because the employees in education department as well as sub-departments are hard to handle with. Moreover, the system applied in the department has been a mess since a long time ago.

“Indeed, there are many honest people. But, his subordinates are way too bad,” stated Basuki.

During his tenure in leading Jakarta Education Department, Basuki assessed Marbun is a successful leader. For information, he managed to thin some units in the department and save Rp 2 trillion from allegedly attempted budget mark-up and waste of budget year 2013.

“I don’t know yet where to assign him,” admitted Basuki.
