Sieribu Islands and KSOP to Certify 103 Fishing Boats

The Seribu Islands District along with the KSOP is about to certify 103 fishing boats in Seribu Islands. 

Certainly this is not just a requirement but for the safety of our fishermen too

Seribu Isands KSOP Head, Herberd Marpaung stated, based on the verification results along with the Seribu Islands PTSP UP, there are 1,144 fishing boats. From those boats, 103 out of them are not yet verified.

"We help fishermen to complete their administration, and they just meet a shipbuilder's statement and safety equipment," he expressed, Friday (11/23).

It is conducted by conducting jemput bola program. Besides making it fast, it is one form of service provided by his party to the fishermen. On that occasion, he also holds socialization regarding the completeness of safety equipment (life jacket) and the shipbuilder's statement.

"It is a must, as these two things often become obstacles in the process of certifying fishing boats," he explained.

Seribu Islands Regent, Husein Murad added that his side will help socialize and ask the fishermen to have a minimum of two life jackets and gives the name of their ship.

"Certainly this is not just a requirement but for the safety of our fishermen too," he stressed.
