PT MRT Continues to Conduct Series of Train System Tests

The construction of the phase I MRT (Lebak Bulus-HI Roundabout) has reached 97.52 percent. To make it operate in March 2019, the series of tests and inspection of the MRT train system continues to be conducted. 

The construction progress has touched 97.52 percent 

"The construction progress has touched 97.52 percent and the rest of 2.5 percent is just finishing stage such as escalator and entrance," expressed William P Sabandar, President Director of PT MRT Jakarta at Dukuh Atas Station, Central Jakarta, Thursday (11/29).

DPRD Chairman Expects MRT to Operate Soon

Currently his party continues to test out and inspect the system of the MRT train. The system test itself has been ongoing since August 9, 2018.

"Operation is done automatically. This requires a very high level of accuracy," he told.

Thus far, around 12 out of 16 trains have been arrived in the capital. Then other four trains are predicted to arrive by the end of this year.

"We'll test out them for one month in mid-February. It will be officially commercial in March 2019," he stated.
