PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) keeps developing the system of electronic ticket or e-ticket. The implementation of this system, which now has running in TransJakarta bus corridor I (Blok M-Kota), will be extended to corridor IX (Pinang Ranti-Pluit). To support the system, some facilities are being prepared.
We will implement (e-ticket system) in corridor IX, the target is around September. After that, we’ll gradually implement e-ticketing in every corridor
PT Transjakarta President Director, Antonius Kosasih, said that e-ticket system will be implemented gradually. After corridor I, the next target is corridor IX that has quite many passengers.
“We will implement (e-ticket system) in corridor IX, the target is around September. After that, we’ll gradually implement e-ticketing in every corridor,” he stated, Saturday (8/16).
August 11, TransJakarta Corridor I Imposes e-TicketMoreover, Kosasih hopes that by January 2015 all TransJakarta bus corridors to already implement e-ticketing. Even so, he admitted the process would not be easy because it needs supporting networks which have not been installed in all corridors.
“We also need network cooperation because not all corridors have optic fiber networks yet. This is because e-ticket system uses data network. When the card is tapped, the following activities are open the gate, input data, then banking transaction happened,” he explained.
According to Kosasih, at this time the amount of TransJakarta bus passengers using e-cards is getting increasing. Since e-card was officially implemented last Monday (8/11), 47 percent of 320,000-350,000 passengers per day have used it.
“The amount increases because this is promotion time. Everyone knew that the card is still free now, pay it for Rp 20 thousand and get top-up Rp 20 thousand as well. But starting Monday (8/18), we’ll sell the card for Rp 40 thousand,” he uttered.
