Nine mosquito larvae monitoring (jumantik) officers from RW 019, Tugu Utara Urban Village, Koja Sub-District, North Jakarta, came to local urban village office to demand their six months of monthly allowances to be immediately paid.
I ask urban village officials not to remain quiet on this matter. Those jumantik officers have done their duties, so it is reasonable they are now demanding their rights which have not fulfilled yet
Chief of RW 019 Tugu Utara, Richardo, admitted that the last time those nine jumantik officers received their allowance as much as Rp 210 thousand per month was in March. Although he had asked about this matter many times to urban village officials, there is still no clarity until now.
“I ask urban village officials not to remain quiet on this matter. Those jumantik officers have done their duties, so it is reasonable they are now demanding their rights which have not fulfilled yet,” he stated, Monday (8/25).
DBD Killed a Boy in West JakartaBesides jumantik officers’ allowances, Richardo disclosed that the urban village officials also have not equipped those officers with tools to monitor mosquito larvae in residents’ houses.
“The officers finally bought flash lights and batteries using their own money. They did it because if the mosquito larvae were not monitored, dengue fever (DBD) would attack the residents,” he uttered.
Responding this matter, Head of Tugu Utara Urban Village, Mulyadi, stated that the allowance of jumantik officers have not been paid because Jakarta Provincial Government has not disbursed the operational fund.
“It should’ve been paid, but there is a problem from Jakarta Provincial Government. So, this jumantik officers’ late allowances payment is not our mistake,” he reasoned.
