We are not ambitious, but just wanted Jakarta to be a model. Why be a model, this is not because it is better
Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama had a plan to make the capital city as a model in many ways to other provinces in Indonesia. Former Regent of East Belitung is optimistic it can be realized quickly.
"We are not ambitious, but just wanted Jakarta to be a model. Why be a model, this is not because it is better. But its fate is indeed good, because the media would rather stay in Jakarta," said Basuki in his speech at the interactive dialogue of bureaucratic ethics in governance which was held in Great Hall, Wednesday (27/8).

"Jakarta has the status as the capital city thus it is easily becoming a model in Indonesia. We want to run the Law of State Civil Apparatus (ASN)," he expressed.
To achieve such aim, he continued, Jakarta Provincial Government keeps trying to improve human resources. By so, all the civil servants serving under Jakarta government should be measured but not only be seen from the performance and salary received.
"We're preparing the system of Regional Allowance (TKD) to promote the echelon-III and allowance," he told.
He asserted that Jakarta government had demoted tens of civil servants who have bad performance. "Certainly, we will do demotion if our employees have bad performance," he asserted.
Basuki added that system that is being developed will probably allow the civil servants receive more higher benefits. Even, an officer of One-Stop Integrated Service (PTSP) per month would receive a salary of Rp 12.5 million and no longer concerned with the echelon.
"I believe that Jakarta will be better. We do not need to add more employee and formation. Definitely, Jakarta civil servants' salary would be higher than the private companies," he finished.
