The educational investment that triggers the largest economic plan is education investment at an early age. It is inspired by the idea of the Nobel laureate in economics, James J Heckman, the Jakarta Provincial Government is getting more serious and focused on improving the quality of early-childhood education.
With TPA and SPS, parents can be calmer at work and children can play freely
It has been proven with the increase in the Public Child Care Park (TPA and the Public Similar PAUD Unit (SPS) in Jakarta with a total of 32 units. One of the newly inaugurated by Jakarta Governor is located at the office of the West Jakarta Mayor, on Wednesday (10/2).
After the inauguration, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asserted that his party focuses on improving the quality and quantity of TPA and SPS in a bid to give more attention to the golden phase of learning for children.
Commission A Evaluates SKPDs Budget Absorption 2018 and SPS 2019"Early childhood is the most basic phase. All that we learn in life is at the earliest age, this phase is most important. Therefore give them chance to grow," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.
It is not only about quality, but also quantity. It will make it easier for parents to monitor the child's development to get an education according to their age.
"With TPA and SPS, parents can be calmer at work and children can play freely," he explained.
As the initial phase, he realized that children must be given chance to play. Thus he entrusts a message to them in providing more space for children to play and develop their imagination.
"My message to them (TPS and SPS), children must be given free expression, not too many rules. We have to give them free space and time to play and make imagination, don't stop them," he explained.
He hopes the TPA and SPS's quantity continues to grow thus all children get the same early education.
"In Jakarta, we show investment in education must be given proportionally, PAUD must be multiplied, as therein lies investment in education. Hopefully this can be a pilot and PAUD must also get the same chance. There is no difference between private and public, we target PAUD in Jakarta with 100 percent participation," he stressed.
