Violating Traffic Rules, 11 Vehicles Grounded

Totally, we grounded 11 vehicles due to illegal parking

As many as 9 cars and 2 trailer trucks were grounded by Jakarta Transportation Department in the raid that held simultaneously in five municipalities, Monday (9/8).

"Totally, we grounded 11 vehicles due to illegal parking," said Head of Operational Management Section for Jakarta Transportation Department, Syafrin Liputo.

6 Container Trucks Grounded

Those grounded vehicles consist of 4 cars from Tanah Abang, 1 car from Beos, 2 trailer trucks from Marunda, 2 cars from Jatinegara, and 2 others from Kalibata.

"After being towed, around 12.26 PM, some owners have transferred money to redeem their vehicles via DKI Bank," he expressed.

Until Monday afternoon, he told, 9 vehicle owners affected raid have transferred levy fines via DKI Bank.

"7 out of 9 vehicle owners have processed documents to the office of Jakarta Transportation Department to redeem vehicles," he explained.

Liputo uttered that his side also involves police in the raid. "So, speeding ticket will be given to the vehicle owners if they are in the location during raid. Thus far, 12 cars were ticketed. Although our personnel is limited, but the raid can at least give socialization to the people," he asserted.

He added that after raid, Transportation Department officers also held raid by removing vehicles' tire valve in Tanah Abang. "About 31 tire valves of cars are removed by us," he told.
