Digital Island Program Launched Today in Tidung Island

In order to support Thousand Islands as one of national tourism strategic areas, Bank Indonesia Jakarta Representative Office launches Digital Island program in Tidung Island, Wednesday (10/30).

Digital Island launching in Thousand Islands will improve the image of ease and safe travel in Thousand Islands

Bank Indonesia Jakarta Representative Office Head, Hamid Ponco Wibowo stated, this program is expected to facilitate tourists who want to do banking transaction and ensure the secure and inclusive payment system.

"Digital Island launching in Thousand Islands will improve the image of ease and safe travel in Thousand Islands, through improvement of non-cash transaction payment system service," he explained.

Digital Island Concept will Be Launched in Tidung Island

According to him, Thousand Islands has met the requirements as the national tourism destination since it has a lot of potential to be explored, such as its beautiful nature and underwater richness.

Moreover, Thousand Islands also has amenity and accessibility that quite support it as tourist destination, such as digital payment system that is easier and inclusive.

"During today's Digital Island launching, we replace QR into QRIS thus it can be accessed more widely by the public. Tidung Island become the pilot project for QRIS before it is applied in other islands," he said.
