Head of Service and Social Rehabilitation Section, Central Jakarta Social Sub-Department, Wanson Sinaga expressed the raid is conducted after he received a report from locals about old man who likes to beg beside the Oasis Hotel, Senen, Central Jakarta.
"The beggar (old man) had tried to bribe officers when being secured. But we immediately took him to the car and checked his bag. Afterwards, we found cash money worth Rp 11 million," he expressed, Tuesday (9/16).
Dozens of PMKS in Monas NettedSuch old man is identified as Edi Supriyadi (78), a citizen of Kudus, Central Java.
The cash was dominated with banknotes worth Rp 100 thousand and Rp 50 thousand four sheets. Officers also found a kitchen knife, blankets, lighting equipment and mineral water.
"The wagon is used as his home. This is because we also found household appliances," he told.
Until now, he continued, his sub-department is still questioning the old man. "After being recorded, he will be brought to the Insan Bangun Daya Social Institution in Cipayung, East Jakarta," he uttered.
