Transjakarta, LRT and MRT Ready to Facilitate Jakartans Enjoy New Year's Eve

Including 24-hour free bus service from the Kemayoran C3 parking area to the east gate of Ancol

For Jakarta residents who want to enjoy the New Year's Eve event, you don't need to worry about traffic jams or transportation difficulties to come and go home.

This is because the PT Transjakarta will deploy 151 units of fleet that operates until midnight.

The number will be three times more than a normal day which is only 55 fleets, which aim to anticipate the buildup of passengers in 13 corridors, as well as route 2C (Monas - JIExpo) and 5H (Harmoni - Ancol).

PT Transjakarta Service and Development Director Achmad Izzul Waro added, route 2C that serves PGC - JIEXpo and Pulogading - JIExpo was specifically provided to facilitate citizens who want to enjoy the event at Ancol Dream Park.

"Including 24-hour free bus service from the Kemayoran C3 parking area to the east gate of Ancol. We have 8 units with a capacity of 60 people," he expressed, Monday (12/30).

Aside that, citizens who want to enjoy the New Year's Eve can also use the LRT public transportation facilities.

PT LRT Jakarta Corporate Secretary Division Head Arnold Kindangen uttered the operating time will be extended from usual at 11 PM to 2 AM on New Year's Eve to accommodate people living around East and North Jakarta.

"We see activity in the environment around six Jakarta LRT stations," he stated.

Besides LRT, citizens living in South Jakarta area can use the MRT transportation facilities to get to the HI Roundabout area to celebrate the event. Its operational will be extended up to 2.30 AM with a 12 minute headway.

"Those who want to use this transportation can enjoy the event until after midnight also," asserted MRT Jakarta Operation and Maintenance Director Muhammad Effendi.

To help smooth the flow of passengers at several locations, such as at Senayan Station, he cooperates with the police, the Transportation Agency and the Satpol PP.

"Due to road closure, they can park vehicle at GBK and then take the MRT from Senayan Station to HI Roundabout or Sudirman," he stated.
