Anticipating Extreme Weather, BPBD Encourages People to Monitor Water Channel Condition

Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) encourages citizens to ensure water channels in settlements are clean from garbage.

As an early anticipation, we encourage citizens to ensure water channel in their settlements to flow smoothly

It is done to anticipate extreme weather that is potential to occur in Jakarta and its surrounding areas on January 11-15.

"As an early anticipation, we encourage citizens to ensure water channel in their settlements to flow smoothly," conveyed Subedjo, Jakarta BPBD Head, Wednesday (1/8).

Extreme Weather, Regent Reminds Fishermen Beware of High Waves

Based on BMKG's prediction regarding extreme weather, his side is focus on anticipating flood in Jakarta by ensuring early warning system can be functioned well thus it can minimize potential for material losses and casualties.

"We will also coordinate with related institutions to ensure all pumps, facilities, and infrastructures used to overcome disaster are ready to operate," he added.

According to him, his side will continue to urge citizens to be aware of potential disasters that can occur during the extreme weather. Moreover, his side also prepared posts and personnel from provincial level to urban village level.
