Jakarta Education Department is committed to ensure all schools from elementary schools until high schools and other schools equivalent to it to be children-friendly schools.

We want students to think school is their second house

Education Department Head, Nahdiana mentioned, children-friendly school should be realized by creating comfortable teaching and learning activities.

"We want students to think school is their second house. They can learn things, communicate, and interact well with others," she conveyed, Thursday (1/30).

Meanwhile, Jakarta Education Department Deputy Head, Syaefuloh Hidayat added, his side has formed Children Protection Unit that refers to Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 86/2019 about Violence Prevention and Handling for Students in the Education Unit and Its Environment.

According to her, Article 8 Paragraph 1 of that Pergub mentioned about Children Protection Unit's job is to create friendship environment free from discrimination and violence and participate actively in preventing violence. If there are students who commit acts of violence, this unit is obliged to foster those students by giving verbal reprimands, written reprimands and educative actions.

"This unit has been made at provincial level, regency, municipality, and school. We will intensify the operational of this unit thus it can be more effective and optimal," he stated.
