The Central Jakarta administration is focusing on intensifying the socialization of waste management in its region to the RW level.

Central Jakarta Vice Mayor Irwandi said it is compliance with the Gubernatorial Instruction number 108/2019 on Policies and Strategies in Managing Household Waste and Household Trash.

"Now we will change the pattern in the community in managing waste to the RW level. Therefore we intensify socialization on the program of Joint Responsibility Waste program (Samtama)," he said, Thursday (2/13).

To reduce waste in Central Jakarta area, his party began to eliminate bottled drinking water in meeting activities whereby the meeting participants must bring their own drinking bottles.

Based on the data gathered, the potential for household waste generation and similar household waste in Central Jakarta touches 308,331.83 tons per year.

Meanwhile, the target of reducing household waste and household-like waste is around 67,833 tons per year.

"We must be able to implement this. If possible, the employees will bring all tumblers," he stated.
