City Extends Remote Working Period to April 19

This is not a holiday but work from home

The Jakarta Provincial Government has extended the state of emergency period in Jakarta to April 19 in a bid to combat COVID-19 pandemic.

It is contained in Circular Letter number 16/SE/2020 on Extension of Work from Home for Employees under Jakarta Provincial Government.

Jakarta Regional Employment (BKD) Agency Head Chaidir expressed this policy would also apply to a work from home policy for employees under government and private companies, as well as schools and tourist sites.

"This is not a holiday but work from home," he explained.

Especially for civil servants, they are required to input daily activities through etkd.bkd.jakarta.go.id system and is not allowed to leave Jakarta during the sate of emergency period.

"We'll keep monitoring them, whether they really work from home or not," he asserted.

They are also advised not to take homecoming during Eid ul Fitr.

"Surely we need joint effort and awareness in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus," he stated.
