Ahok will Aggressively Sue Constitution Offenders

Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ T Purnama will bring some lawyers to sue people who violate the constitution in the capital city. The sue itself is planned to be filed in 2015. Several violations that will be sued by Jakarta Provincial Government are related to street vendors handling, people occupying government’s lands or assets, until demonstrators.

In the future, we’ll sue many people. Don’t mess with us because we have lawyers to sue you

“I’m preparing the way how to make a lawyer office that could be paid per packaged in the Government’s Procurement Regulatory Body (LKPP). In the future, we’ll sue many people. Don’t mess with us because we have lawyers to sue you,” he stated, Tuesday (9/30).

According to Basuki, all this time Jakarta Provincial Government always acts passively and waiting to be sued in the court. But starting next year, city government will aggressively sue constitution violators in the capital city.

I Remain Focused Working Before My Tenure Ends, Ahok Says

“The way is already exist in South Sumatra. However, historically, this is the first time Jakarta Provincial Government likes to sue people after all this time getting sued by people. The lawyers will be paid per package,” he uttered.

This former Regent of East Belitung told that Jakarta Provincial Government plans to be selective in choosing lawyers to be served as city’s attorneys when dealing cases in the court.

“We need strict and stern lawyers, because their payment is per package, not per hour. When they process our case, they must do a lawsuit until final and binding (inkarcht). Afterwards, we pay their services,” explained Basuki.

Seeing the chance of conflict between Jakarta Provincial Government and constitution violators would be high, the procurement for lawyers’ services will be included in the 2015 City Budget (APBD).

“It’s cheap. Many lawyers actually don’t take charges (for their services),” he disclosed.
