Story of Any Septi, Female Satpol PP on Duty During COVID-19 Pandemic

Being a Satpol PP member is a matter of pride for 35-year-old Any Septi Ningsih. Although the task she carries is full of risks, the mother of two kids admitted that she enjoyed it.

The woman who was born in Jakarta on September 19, 1985 began her career as a member of the Satpol PP in Kayu Putih Urban Village, Pulogadung, East Jakarta in 2019. The blazing sun and heavy rain became a normal thing that she felt while on duty.

"The national hero figure RA Kartini has inspired me and other Indonesian women for her fighting spirit, brave spirit and tough figure," she expressed, when being interviewed by Beritajakarta.id, Tuesday (4/21).

She admitted many ups and downs she experienced while serving in the field, especially in the midst of a coronavirus outbreak now. She saw most people seemed indifferent and did not obey the health protocols such as not wearing a mask when doing activities outside the home.

"I also have a bad experience when helping to manage traffic. But I reply with smile," she told.

While the feeling of joy she felt was she joined in the struggle to educate residents about the dangers of COVID-19.

For her, the profession as a member of the women's Satpol PP was very encouraging.
