PD. PAL Jaya Continues to Monitor Waste Water Treatment During PSBB

During Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) period in Jakarta, PD. PAL Jaya keeps ensuring level of surface water polution decreases by operating wastewater treatment from Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) Moving Bead Biofilm Reactor (MBBR).

PD. PAL Jaya Operation and Maintenance Manager, Andri Pontianti mentioned, his side always treat the waste water that enters WWTP from customers households before it is discharged into reduced surface water.

PAL Jaya always processes domestic waste water from each houses ad buildings in order to meet quality standards based on the Environment Minister Regulation No. 68/2016 to ensure it is safe before flowing it to the water bodies.
"For its mechanism, we add disinfectant solution to the waste water which entered through PD. PAL Jaya waste installation before it is released into public channel, thus it is safe," he mentioned.
Regarding disinfectant, his side has its own calculation thus no chance in the residual chlorine.
"In normal days, we usually deploy our personnel in three work shifts with 4 personnel in a shift. During PSBB, we reduce it into 2 work shifts a day," he informed.
Meanwhile for WWTP cleaning is carried out regularly once or twice per two weeks during PSBB. Previously, it could be done once every four days.
During PSBB, volume of waste water treated by PD. PAL Jaya is decreasing because many offices, restaurants and shops are closed.
"It means, it also doesn't matter to reduce officers on duty," he closed.
