Jakarta Provincial Government keeps revitalizing traditional markets in the capital city as an effort to create safety, comfort and calmness for visitors. One of those markets is Slipi Market, West Jakarta. Since it is located in the middle of the city, the revitalization of Slipi Market will include building facilities and infrastructures, such as flat or office.
We’re currently socializing about the market rejuvenation. We will see whether the market is equipped with flat or office
PD Pasar Jaya President Director, Djangga Lubis, disclosed that the use right of Slipi Market has expired because already more than 20 years. Therefore, revitalization should be done.
“We’re currently socializing about the market rejuvenation. We will see whether the market is equipped with flat or office. One thing for sure is that the market still exists,” he stated, Monday (10/6).
Rp 20 B for RTH Revitalization in W. JakartaIf the flat was built, furthered Lubis, it will certainly add new housing for lower-class citizens, especially for those who are relocated from the riverbanks. Moreover, Slipi Market’s land is large enough, reaching 6,200 square meters wide. But first, PD Pasar Jaya will ask for an additional Building Floor Quotient (KLB).
To realize the revitalization, PD Pasar Jaya must get approval from 60 percent of existing traders. Currently, there are about 500 traders in Slipi Market.
Unfortunately, Lubis does not mention about the fund needed for Slipi Market revitalization. But if the government investment participation (PMP) amounting Rp 170 billion from Jakarta Provincial Government had been disbursed, the revitalization work will be carried out by PD Pasar Jaya instead of the developer.
“The revitalization is still in planning phase. Thus, if the plan changed, the budget would be affected. We’ll also ask the traders whether they want flat or office. Thus, we can calculate the budget,” he uttered.
