Post Friday Riot, City Hall and City Council's Security Tightened

Former regent of East Belitung added FPI is not officially listed in the Jakarta National and Political Unity Office (Kesbangpol).

"They (FPI) are not unofficial organization, as well as also not listed in our list and Kesbangpol. Registration in the Ministry of Home Affairs has also been stale. I can prove it," he asserted.

He assessed rejection action voiced by FPI against him that would serve as Jakarta Governor is a democratic right. Even, there are also other mass organizations have a similar opinion.

"This is a democratic right, all people could refuse. I also oppose and reject the existence of FPI. I just need 50 percent plus one to be governor," he explained.

Basuki also denied allegations that the FPI anarchy was caused by provocation of his men. He said, the majority of FPI members who staged demonstration in front of the City Council are from West Java. It proves there are people controlling them.

"I guess they were paid by someone. I don't believe if the anarchy action is caused with provocation. All had been prepared," he added.
