Thousand Islands KPKP Sub-agency Has Served 176 Docking Services

Along January until June, there are 176 ships doing docking in five service locations

The Thousand Islands Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency has served 176 docking services.

Devi Riana Sumanthi, Head of Thousand Islands KPKP Sub-agency said the increased demand for docking services seen since the end of February in all shipyards, such as on Pramuka, Sebira, Tidung, Untung Jawa and Lancang islands.

"Along January until June, there are 176 ships doing docking in five service locations," she expressed, Wednesday (7/15).

She detailed, the highest demand for docking occurs in March and May when fishing and transportation of goods and passengers were restricted, because of the transitional large-scale social restriction (PSBB).

"To get docking services, ship owners must queue, as each service unit can only welcome three ships," she explained.

Meanwhile, she added to repair a ship took about seven to 10 days in accordance with damage to the ship.

"Each ship will be charged at Rp 50,000 per three days," he stated.
