6,282 Children in Jakarta Given a Play Package

Through Teman di Rumah (friend at home) program, as many as 6,282 children from underprivileged families in Jakarta have received aid packages in the form of play equipment, educational materials to healthy snacks on 19 May to 7 July.

Tuty Kusmawati, Agency Head of Child Protection and Empowerment and Population Control Agency (PPAPP) expressed, in the program, her agency was cooperating with the Governor's Team for Accelerated Development (TGUPP), Education Agency, PKK cadres and donators.
"This program facilitates them (children) to keep playing and doing activities at home with toys or educational material at home," she expressed, Monday (7/27).

"This is one form of attention and support for the fulfillment of children's rights," she explained.
She furthered the program was from individuals, communities, foundations and institutions. Donators could still send donation packages to the donation collection point at the TP PKK Secretariat in five regions, including Thousand Islands.
Eventually donation packages received would be sorted according to the age and gender of the child. After that, they would be packed before being distributed to PKK cadres at the sub-district level to be submitted to the PAUD's headmaster or PAUD teacher.
"Those who coordinate with PAUD who have students from underprivileged families. PKK cadres have obtained data on children through the Education Agency," he stated.
