City Committed to Support Child Development by Age Starting from PAUD

Jakarta Government has committed to pay attention to parenting and education patterns for children at early ages in Jakarta. One of them is to encourage children to take a part in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) activities before entering next level of education.

It was conveyed by Jakarta Vice Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria (Ariza) when receiving a hearing from Jakarta Regional Leaders of Association of PAUD Teachers and Education Personnel (HIMPAUDI) at Jakarta Vice Governor's Meeting Room, Thursday (8/6). Other related parties also attended in this hearing such as Jakarta Education Agency Head, Nahdiana and her subordinates; and Jakarta Regional Financial Management Agency (BPKD) Head, Edi Sumantri.
At the hearing, Ariza and the related apparatuses discussed the recommendations from HIMPAUDI, such as issuing regulations that require people or families with early age children to send them for PAUD program before entering next education level.

Jakarta Education Agency Head, Nahdiana conveyed, her side has built a good synergy with PW HIMPAUDI Jakarta to support children in Jakarta to grow and develop normally, while still providing adequate opportunities to play according to their age.
"We have technically synchronized several issues and the point is, we want to let the children to grow and develop themselves according to their age. Don't force children at PAUD to be able to read and write. Let them develop to be normal children. Other issues will be discussed further," she asserted.
