Due to the 2014 City Budget Amendment (APBDP) is not yet disbursed, the re-function program of seven drains in East Jakarta is doomed to fail. Whereas, based on previous year experience, the APBDP budget could already be used in mid-October.

Head of East Jakarta Water Management Public Works Sub-Department, Henry Dunant, informed that 13 drains are planned to be re-functioned this year. Thus far, six drains have been re-functioned, while the remaining seven are still waiting for fund disbursement.

“The fund provision letter (SPD) for drains re-function program has not been issued. Whereas, the seven drains that will be re-functioned are located in prone to flood areas during rainy season,” he stated, Monday (10/20).
