MRT Passengers Decreased Within Two Weeks of PSBB

During Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) implementation in Jakarta from September 14-27, MRT Jakarta recorded 128,096 passengers used MRT train. This figure is slowly decreasing.

We limit the capacity up to 60 passengers

PT. MRT Jakarta Corporate Secretary Division Head, Muhamad Kamaludin mentioned, his side recorded 64,828 passengers used MRT train  during the first week of PSBB or September 14-20.

"On average, it reached 11 thousand passengers in the first week and it dropped drastically at weekends around 4,000 passengers on Saturday (9/19), and around 2,000 passengers on Sunday (9/20)," he conveyed, this Monday (9/28).

On the second week of PSBB or September 21-27, MRT Jakarta passengers decreased to 63,268 people.

"On average, it reached 10-11 thousand passengers in the second week," he added.

For MRT operation, his side still tightens health protocols and required people to implement 3M, namely wearing mask, washing hands, and maintaining distance.

"We limit the capacity up to 60 passengers. Thus we urge people to stay at home and go outside only when there is an urgent need," he stated.
