100 Tons of Trash Left from People's Party Cleaned Up

The people's party for the inauguration of the President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla yesterday, has left trash piles on protocol roads. At least 100 tons of trash could be cleaned up by janitors of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, starting from Thamrin-Sudirman areas until National Monument (Monas)

Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, Saptastri Ediningtyas disclosed 22 dump trucks were sent to clean trashes during people's party until finished. Until now, she admitted has picked up at least 100 tons of trash. 

1,000 Janitors to Clean Up Trashes in Presidential Inauguration

"We did cleaning in Thamrin area-Monas gradually until midnight," she expressed, Tuesday (10/21).

 

She stated more than 1,000 janitors prepared and then divided into 3 shift to clean up trash in such sites. "The event began in the morning and finished at night thus we divided our janitors into 3 shift," she added.

 

According to her, the collected trashes then brought to the Bantar Gebang Landfill.

"Most of them are dominated with food wrappers, paper towels, and bottled beverages. This is because the event organizer held free food during people's party yesterday," she uttered.
