We’re only assisting the police in regulating the traffic

“We’re only assisting the police in regulating the traffic. We’ll also prepare 3-4 tow cars, both manual and automatic. This is because sometimes there is vehicle that broke down and need to be towed. So, we can directly tow the vehicle and evacuate it to smooth the traffic,” stated Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, Muhammad Akbar, Saturday (10/18).

According to Akbar, until now there is no road closure plan on the roads mentioned. However, the roads will be narrowed during the event is held, thus the officers in the field are asked to regulate the traffic.

“There is no road closure. There is only route diversion, but it is situational. The citizens are urged to look for alternative routes to prevent getting stuck in traffic congestion,” he uttered.

In addition, Akbar informed that TransJakarta bus corridors that intersect with the event will remain be operated. Thus, public service can run well. However, the event participants are asked not to use TransJakarta bus lanes during the cultural carnival or people’s party.
