Three Bus Terminals Represent DKI at National Healthy Terminal 2020 Competition

Jakarta Government has included three inter-city inter-province (AKAP) bus terminals in National Healthy Terminal 2020 Competition.

After determining the top 10, the assessment team visited it again to listen exposures from each terminal heads and check the locations

Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head, Syafrin Liputo mentioned, the assessment team representatives from Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), Ministry of Trans portation (Kemenhub), and Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) had reviewed those three terminals some time ago.

Those terminals are Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal, Kampung Rambutan Terminal, and Kalideres Terminal. Based on results of juries' assessment review, those type-A terminals have made it into the top 10 nominations for National Healthy Terminal 2020.

"After determining the top 10, the assessment team visited it again to listen exposures from each terminal heads and check the locations," he stated, Monday (10/19).

According to him, assessment points for this competition include cleanliness and tidiness of terminal, healthy food, healthy water resources, and healthy toilets.

Additional assessment point that becomes the main review of this year's competition is health protocols implementation as one of the important things that should be done in public places.

"Since the beginning of pandemic in March, we have been concerned about health protocols implementation. Because terminal is the meeting point where people passing by. So, we have made guidelines for health protocols," he said.

Moreover, he added, canteens in all three terminals were also checked by assessment team to ensure its sanitation and hygiene, whether it has followed health instructions and guidelines from Ministry of Health and through Jakarta Health Agency or not.

"Kampung Rambutan and Kalideres Terminal are old buildings but clean and well-maintained, that is why they are in the top 10, because we apply health protocols and provide health facilities. We also maintain hygiene and sanitation in canteens of those terminals," he conveyed.

He is optimistic about the assessment results, because terminal managers have made the efforts to provide a sense of security and comfort to terminal visitors and passengers.

For informatoin, terminals which involved in this competition has applied a strict health protocols and required the visitors to wear mask, checked visitors' body temperature, provided hand washing facilities and hand sanitizers, and gave a gap between seats in terminal's waiting room.

Those terminals are also equipped with loudspeaker to disseminate prevention protocols for Covid-19 transmission regularly, health facilities, health protocols information banners.

At Kalideres Terminal, he gave an example, body temperature checking was carried out in layers. When entering, passengers' body temperature are checked from the vehicle.

"We also collaborate with other related companies, BUMN, and BUMD to provide sinks, hand sanitizers and give masks," he closed.
