18 Officers Dispatched to Overcome Puddles in Rambutan

It occurs at 3:30 PM and starts to recede at 4:15 PM

Around 18 joint personnel of PPSU and Satpol PP are deployed to handle puddles on Jalan Laning, RT 04/03 and Jalan Diklat Depsos, RT 12/02, Rambutan Urban Village, Ciracas, East Jakarta, on Monday (10/19) afternoon.

Rambutan Urban Village Head Ikhwan Muhammad Ali said puddles as high as 50-70 cm were because of heavy rain that caused overflowing waters of Cipinang River to the residential area.

"It occurs at 3:30 PM and starts to recede at 4:15 PM," he said, Monday (10/19).

Those officers also deployed to evacuate residents who need assistance.

To conduct evacuation, his side had prepared one unit of rubber boat from BPBD and two units of big-sized floating tire. Up to 5:30 PM, this evacuation equipment has not been used.

"We evacuated a couple of husband and wife who were elderly by carrying them to a safer place, at a relative's house," he explained.

Up to 5:40 PM, he added, the puddle began to recede. If at 4 PM, the height had reached 70 cm, now it was about 50 cm.

"The weather in the surrounding area is still drizzling and we are still alerting the officers," he stated.
