Tidung Kecil Island's Marine Cultivation and Conservation Center Reopened to Public

Marine Cultivation and Conservation Center (PBKL) on Tidung Kecil Island, Tidung Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands Sub-district, Thousand Islands has been reopened for tourism. The opening of this educational and conservation tourism site is done by implementing health protocols to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-district's PBKL Marine Conservation Unit Head, Cecep Hermawan said, this place has been opened for a week, following the transitional Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policy.

"The opening of this tourist attraction is also in accordance with Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf)'s decree. We strictly implement health protocols to prevent COVID-19 transmission," he mentioned, Thursday (10/29).

Tourist Activity in Thousand Islands is Gradually Recovering

Every tourists, he continued, will have their body temperature checked. Besides, they must wear mask and wash hands often with soap and running water.

"We have prepared hand washing facilities and routinely spray the area with disinfectant," he asserted.

In Tidung Kecil Island, he explained, tourists are allowed to explore Whale House, mangrove and coral reef nurseries, historical tombs, ecopark, gazebo, sea turtles breeding center, nursery area, camping area, and 1,200-meter jogging track with beach and forest views.

Before going to Tidung Kecil Island, tourists will go through Love Bridge on Tidung Besar Island, which is one of Thousand Islands' icons. Love Bridge connects Tidung Besar Island and Tidung Kecil Island.

"As long as we are disciplined in implementing health protocols, hopefully we can travel safely and healthily," he conveyed.
