Although North Jakarta is categorized as a region with a large population around 1,468,84 million people, yet 100 thousand of them are still unemployed. This is because lack of job opportunities.
Based on the data of North Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Sub-Department, the unemployment rate in Jakarta reaches more than 500 thousand people. About 100 thousand of whom are North Jakarta residents.

"Next year, we predict the number of unemployed people in North Jakarta will increase 3-4 thousand at school graduation," he asserted, Tuesday (10/28).
To resolve it, his sub-department opens a job fair at one of the shopping centers in Koja on Tuesday (10/28) and Wednesday (10/29). About 3,724 vacancies for job applicants is provided from 50 companies.
"On the first day, around 3,200 job seekers aged 18-30 years old have crowded the job fair," he stated.
Faturahman, (26), a resident of RW 19 Tugu Utara Urban Village, admitted he was very enthusiastic about participating the job fair. However, he graduated from a private university in Jakarta hoped the next job fair could be held in a government building thus its parking cost is cheaper.
"Parking cost in mall is expensive. While we cannot come to the job fair up to one-two hours," he hoped.
