Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama revealed that there are still many Muslims blind to the Quran in the capital. Hence, he asked the help from the clergy to be more active in teaching children about the Quran.

"I beg you all (clerics) not only hold a ceremonial, but how to encourage Jakarta residents to understand the Quran properly," pleaded Basuki in front of hundreds of clerics at City Hall, Wednesday (10/29).

He also requires children aged 12 years old could read the Quran well. Besides memorized, they also have to understand the meaning of the contents of the Quran. "It is one of the cleric's tasks to encourage people not to blind the Quran," he stated.

On that occasion, he also hoped the umaro, religious clerics and Muslims in Indonesia can able to help President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo in realizing the mental revolution. According to him, a mental revolution also influenced by the beliefs and culture.

"Hopefully, the clerics can realize the mental revolution. I believe it influenced by the beliefs and culture," added former regent of East Belitung.
