Retention Basin Construction in Batu Ceper is Almost Completed

The construction of retention basin along 65 meters on Jalan Batu Ceper, Kebon Kelapa, Gambir, Central Jakarta, currently remains 3 meters left.

Central Jakarta Secretary, Iqbal Akbarudin mentioned, retention basin was one of Central Jakarta's priority programs to anticipate flooding in the region.

"Process of building retention basin on Jalan Batu Ceper is almost completed," he said, Sunday (12/20).

His side didn't find any obstacles in the six priority locations for flood handling in the region thus he was optimistic it would be completed before the end of this year.

"We are optimistic we can achieve all of our targets," he conveyed.

Johar Baru Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Unit Head, Satino explained, his side had built infiltration wells around the location to anticipate retention basin from overflowing.

"If retention basin is full, water will seep through infiltration wells that have been made with depth about 20 meters," he stated.

He estimated that building retention basin and infiltration wells on Jalan Batu Ceper could reduce inundation during rainy days.

"Three infiltration wells have been built. We plan to add two other infiltration wells around the location," he closed.
