The Jakarta Public Service (JPS) considers the 2020 Innovative Government Award (IGA) achieved by the Jakarta Provincial Government from the Home Ministry (Kemendagri) to be an indicator of better public service.

Moreover, various public services can now be accessed online, faster and easier

JPS Executive Director Mohammad Syaiful Johad said, regional apparatus organizations (OPD) were able to take advantage of technological developments to create more effective and efficient public service innovations.

"Moreover, various public services can now be accessed online, faster and easier. Even this online service can prevent KKN as there is no face-to-face meeting between officers and the community," he expressed, Tuesday (12/22).

He explained the existence of public service innovations, either application or web-based would also be of great supports to residents, as they could handle various needs from anywhere.

"Surely these innovations are very beneficial, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic. They (residents) can take advantage of various online platforms, ranging from processing permits and non-permits to paying taxes," he explained.

He hoped that all OPDs could make the award as a motivation to continuously present newness through a variety of the best innovations.

"Hopefully, in the future, there will be new innovations that provide broad benefits to society," he hoped.

As for the information, Jakarta has been named the Most Innovative Province based on the 2020 Regional Innovation Index, along with Central Java, Banten, South Sumatra and Lampung. Jakarta is deemed capable of creating a competitive climate in the field of innovation, especially in public services.
