200 Bus Crews at Kampung Rambutan Terminal Undergo Urine Test

Some 200 bus crews underwent urine test at the Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal, Ciracas, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (12/23). It was held in collaboration with Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Unit Directorate and Korlantas Police Headquarters.

This is to provide a sense of security and comfort for passengers

Korlantas Police Headquarters Chief, Brig. Gen. Istiono, appreciated the terminal's step in providing integrated security posts, health posts, rapid test posts, vehicle check-ups and urine tests for bus crews.

"This urine test is a must, moreover they (bus crews) must also be healthy and free from drug abuse," he said.

Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal Head Made Jhoni explained, urine test was participated by 100 drivers and 100 conductors.

"This is to provide a sense of security and comfort for passengers. The safety of passengers is in the hands of the bus crew," he asserted.

He added the bus crew's urine examination technique was completely left to the Polda Metro Jaya. If anyone was found positive for taking drugs, they would be handled by officers from the Directorate of Narcotics at Polda Metro Jaya or from East Jakarta Metro Police.
