Amount of Waste Collected in Jakarta on New Year's Eve Declined Significantly

The closure of several public facilities as well as tight control on several areas during New Year's Eve has made the number of waste to decline significantly.

There are about 3.2 tons waste collected by thousands personnel who are on standby at New Year's Eve

"Since 2 AM, Jakarta becomes clean again. There are about 3.2 tons waste collected by thousands personnel who are on standby at New Year's Eve," said Syaripudin, Acting Head of Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency, Friday (1/1).

According to him, this figure has declined significantly compared to the amount of waste collected on New Year's eve last year which reached 125 tons.

"Due to Jakarta Government's firmness and citizen's discipline in preventing Covid-19 spread, amount of waste has also drastically declined," he stated.
