Central Jakarta, 12 Thousand COVID-19 Volunteers Inaugurated

Total 12 thousand COVID-19 volunteers were inaugurated by Central Jakarta three pillars on Thursday (2/18). Those volunteers will be deployed in each RTs in 8 sub-districts.

Central Jakarta Acting Mayor, Irwandi mentioned, volunteers were formed as a synergy between government and TNI/Police to curb COVID-19 spread, as well as increase green zones in Central Jakarta.

"We hope areas with green zone status can increase in Central Jakarta," he stated.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Hengki Haryadi explined, COVID-19 volunteers will be deployed to all RTs to improve monitoring on health protocols implementation from RT level.

"We also form 1 Police 1 RW to monitor, with assistance from TNI and Satpol PP. It means we don't work partially, but work in team," he said.

Central Jakarta Dandim 0501, Colonel Inf. Luqman Arief conveyed, volunteers were needed to improve public awareness in implementing health protocols to stop COVID-19 spread.

"It is done to make people more discipline, because it is the key," he closed.
